Fire crackers Explosion at Jankara market on Ojo Giwa Street Lagos Island on boxing day

One killed,and at least 12 houses razed in Lagos fire crackers explosion.

A shop containing fire crackers on Wednesday exploded in a building injuring many and damaged cars and houses close by

According to the residents, the fire started from a warehouse located on 45 Ojo Giwa Street at about 9:30 am and spread to other houses.

Fire fighter promptly turned up and local residents try to put out the flame but the huge crowd that has  besieged the area has made it difficult to put out the fire.  The explosion is reported to have caused an alarming vibration in the area while the noise was deafening.
