Ja Rule Released From Prison

 American rapper Ja Rule, has been released from prison after serving two years in imprisonment for tax invasion and attempted criminal possession of a weapon.

 In 2007, police discovered a loaded semi-automatic handgun in the rapper’s sports car in NYC after the rapper attended a Lil Wayne & Friends concert. Lil Wayne and Don Rhys were also arrested in the incident, but only served eight months for attempted possession of  a weapon.
Ja Rule pled guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon on Dec. 13, 2010 at the Manhattan Supreme Court. The rapper received a two-year sentence for his crime.

 In July 2011, Ja Rule ran into trouble with the law again when he was charged with not paying taxes on over $3 million in earnings from 2004 to 2006. He was sentenced to 28 months in prison for tax evasion.

 The rapper served his gun possession sentence and tax evasion sentence simultaneously.
