Fire razes Lagos plank market, houses

Fire razes Lagos plank market, in Alapere area of Ketu in Lagos on Thursday, razed unspecified number of houses in the area.

However, the cause of the fire could not be ascertained as at the time of this report.The fire was said to have emanated from the plank market situated beside a canal on Demurin Street. According to An eyewitness,  some residents might have been killed by the rampaging inferno. 

The fire started late at night when everyone were already as sleep. 

I got to know about it through a blackberry broadcast that was sent to me by one of my friends in Nigeria at 9:44 pm UK time and the cause of the fire was was yet unknown as at the time i received this message.
