The Pipeline vandals claimed they bribed the community leaders

Kabiru Aadesanya, a suspected pipeline vandals who was arrested by the police at takwa bay in Lagos shortly after a ruptured pipeline was discovered by the security operatives owned by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

The ex-inmate of the kirikiri confessed that a friend of his introduced him to the vandalism business upon his release from the prison where he spent two years and using the skills he acquired while he was in the prison as a plumber helped him to achieve success in pipeline vandalism.

He confession was they work together as a team and the rule is that before any job is executed, they would contribute a certain amount of money and give to the leaders of the community. They (community leaders) would not alert the police rather they will send some young men to keep watch.”
He said before he was arrested, he and his gang members had successfully scoped over 100 gallons of 50 litres of fuel during each operation.

The task force office said that Akinsanya has been on the police wanted list for some time now.
